Property situated in the village of Alekovo, Svishtov Municipality, Veliko Turnovo District. The village is located in North-Central Bulgaria, 23 km from Danube River (and the border with Romania), 70 km from Pleven, and 60 km from Veliko Turnovo. The nearest airport is in Bucharest, Romania, which is at about 120 km away.
The property is situated at the outskirts of the village and provides privacy. The house is brick built and on two floors. The ground floor comprises of one room and a cellar, connected through a corridor. The advantage of being at the ground level is that it has a relatively constant temperature all year round, which means that it is cooler during the summer and warmer during the winter. The second floor has two rooms, corridor and a closet. The size of the closet allows converting it into a bathroom with WC.

The village:
The village of Alekovo is located in Central North Bulgaria, seven kilometers away from the International road I 3 and 30 kilometers from Svishtov and the Danube River. Quiet and peaceful, with population of about 700 people, it spreads between the folds of the Danube Plain. The soil is extremely generous which is why most of the local people work in the agriculture.
The villages old name was „arkchar“, which translated from Turkish means „white soil“. After Bulgarians liberation from the ottomans the village was named after one of the greatest Bulgarian writers- Aleko Konstantinov.
Alekovo has a very ancient history and proofs for a Roman settlement there had been found at the late XIXth century. Besides the Romans there was an old Thracian village, contributing for the long and very interesting history of the village.
Alekovo offers all the basic utilities such as a post-office, several shops, pubs, cafes, etc. A regular bus transport to the surrounding towns and villages is also provided.
