The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), operating in the market under the Vivacom brand, has temporarily suspended sales of large properties, the company`s executive head, Bernard Moscheni, told journalists on Friday.

The move was attributed to the stagnation in the country`s real estate market and the mortgages on more than 800 estates imposed by the government over claims against BTC`s previous owners.

The company has so far sold its larger buildings in Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv and Sofia. BTC had also been on track to sell the Phone Palace in central Sofia to Irish commercial and residential property developer West Inc, but the deal fell through earlier this year...
