"Sozopol municipality will be the first in the country with special tourist estates," says Rumen Alexandrov, the new chief architect of Black Sea Sozopol community in an exclusive interview for Stroitelstvo Gradat weekly. "Sozopol is starting to develop as a high-level resort and our plans are to create incentives for the investors for creation of top quality projects."

The master plan draft will be submitted to public discussions within a few months, it provides for 150,000 persons population. Special rules and construction regulations will be introduces. No apartments in basements will be allowed, the maximum building height has been reduced to 10 m. The new territories that are a part of the new urban zones are not that new - the former Gradine camping and Kavatsite camping and along the old road from Sozpol to Chernomorets are already under construction.

All protected territories - a part of Natura 2000 are taken into consideration as well as the Black Sea Act regulations. Construction of new yacht ports will be encourages as well as three new golf courses. New aquapark will be built in the creek of the former Gradina camping to complete the list of tourist services. The old town buildings have to be refurbished and we expect the cooperation of their owners, says Mr. Alexandrov. BGN 10m have been planned by the electric supply utility for local infrastructure construction.
