Sofia: According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, in the first quarter of 2009 the newly built residential buildings were 547 and marked a decrease of 10.6 % compared to the first quarter of 2008. The number of the new dwellings in them decreased by 12.9% compared to the first quarter of 2008 and reached 3 897. In comparison with the previous quarter the number of the newly built residential buildings decreased by 432 and the number of the dwellings in them marked a decrease of 42.8 %, the National Statistical Institute reorts on Wednesday.

The largest number of the residential buildings and dwellings has been built in the regions of Varna and Burgas, 128 residential buildings with 727 dwellings and 102 buildings with 1 136 dwellings respectively, followed by the region of Plovdiv - 47 buildings with 265 dwellings and the region of Sofia  - 38 buildings with 580 dwellings. In the first quarter of 2009 no one residential buildings has been completed in the region of Kyustendil and Stara Zagora...
