Energy projects, Black Sea proximity and Bulgarian funds backed up the prices of land in Dobrich zone.

For two years in the region have been invested BGN 650m. This strong investment interest reflected on the land prices. In 2007 the land price grew with 75% reaching EUR 40-50 per sq. m for regulated land. The interest to wind generators lead to over 100% price rise of the suitable plots for which the owners claimed BGN 1,600 per 1,000 sq. m.

Farm land was traded at BGN 350 per 1,000 sq. m the European subsidies acting as a catalyst. The basic buyers of farmland are the Bulgarian investment funds whose interest is expected to cause an average price growth of 15% for 2008. According to real estate experts the interest is to shift from big cities to smaller towns like Dobrich, Silistra, Haskovo, Kardzhali.

Two shopping malls and a gated community type complex are under preparation in Dobrich. The investors in the shopping centre are a Bulgarian and an Israeli company, they will have 15,000-20,000 sq. m gross-floor area. For the residential complex has been acquired 15,000 sq. m building land. In 2007 the average price growth in Dobrich has been 16%.
