The financial meltdown has had a negative impact on both the number and the prices of real property deals. The count of real estate contracts has plunged by 35% compared to levels back in 2008. The negative trend in this business has encompassed the whole country from resorts to major cities, the Registry Agency reports.

Officials from Raiffeisen Real Estate said real property deals in the country had nose-dived by 42% on average and by 58% in Sofia. The discrepancy in the data from the two sources comes from the fact that the Registry Agency takes into account all current deals with off plan properties.
