British property buyers are still showing interest in Bulgaria, executive manager of the Bulgarian Investment Association Stoian Stalev said.

Direct foreign investment in Bulgaria for January reached 250 million euro. Half of the sum was generated by British property buyers.

The real estate sector has attracted over 7.4 billion euro direct foreign investment over the past 10 years.

Bulgaria ranks fourth among the most preferential destinations for British property purchase abroad, Stalev said.

In the end of 2008, Bulgaria has registered growth in the property sector totaling 11.7 percent in comparison to figures for the previous year.
