After the parliament increased by 50% the tax appraisals of real estate, municipal councils in Sofia and most cities in Bulgaria will probably leave the real estate tax rates intact. Thus, the real estate tax in the biggest part of the country will increase by 50%.

In Sofia, real estate tax will probably remain 1,875 per one thousand from the tax appraisal of the property, while waste tax will remain 2 per thousand. As a result, for a 59 square meters apartment in the center of Sofia real estate tax increases from 111,54 levs to 167,31 levs. The waste tax increases from 118,97 to 178,46 levs.

Thus, the overall taxes for the property increase from 230,51 to 345,7 levs. For primary property the tax is paid with a 50% decrease.
