    Q30: What is Kavarma?
    A30: Kavarma (or Kavarma Kebap) is the national dish of spiced chopped meat, leeks or onions and red pepper grilled on skewers until juicy or served as meatballs in their own sauce. There are a lot of recipes depend of region (Radomir, Sofia, Dobrudja, etc.), meals (pork, beef, chicken), etc.

    A31: Salads in Bulgaria are usually eaten as a starter, or as the accompaniment to a stiff aperitif. Most common are those formed from the following vegetables, whether singly or in combination: cabbage ( zele ), tomatoes ( domati ), cucumber ( krastavitsi ) and peppers ( piperki or chushki ). A meshana salata (mixed salad) consists of cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes; a Shopska salata is the same topped with grated white cheese, while a selska salata comes with a few additional slices of boiled egg. Two yogurt-based salads are mlechna salata (like tarator but thicker, with nuts) and snezhanka (pickled cucumbers covered in yoghurt).

    A32: The assortment of baby foods is very rich and prices vary but the average prices for baby foods made in Bulgaria are:
    - for fruit puree (bottle 0.200g): between 0.80 BGL - 1.40BGL (0.40 EUR to 0.70 EUR).
    - for messes (pack of 300g): from 1.60 BGL to 2.40 BGL(0.80 EUR to 1.20 EUR)

    Q33: What is the most famous Bulgarian food(dish)?
    A33: It is impossible to say only one traditional and famous Bulgarian dish. Different regions have different specialities:
    For Pirin region - Bansko-style kapama, Katino meze and the Bansko-style staretz (sausage), the town of Elena is known for its Elenski pork leg (a leg of pork processed in a special way), the village of Smilyan – with its unusually large and tasty white beans, the town of Karlovo – with its Karlovski sudjuk (flat -sausage) and Karlovska lukanka, the Nessebar town – with its fish soup, the Rhodopes region with its patatnik, klin and kachamak and many other culinary temptations throughout the entire country which are worth trying!

    A34: Usually there are different sizes - small, medium and big (and very big - 12 pieces - for family or friends) . The price start from 1 BGN (0.50 EUR) for 1 piece on street to 10 - 15 BGN (about 5-8 EUR) for some special pizzas in restaurants (for example with sea foods)

    Q35: What is Chubritza?
    A35: Chubritsa is Bulgarian name for Savory - very popular spice in Bulgaria. The plant, which botanists claim to be a species of the herb "Satureia hortensis", appears to grow particularly well upon Bulgarian soil. It also shares certain characteristics with the so-popular Oregano (Origanum vulgare). The savory dried leaves are crushed and sprinkled on top of many kinds of dishes, or ground into a fine powder and used on bread-and-butter.

    A37: Bahar (Pimenta dioica L.). In English - Allspice, also called Jamaica pepper, Myrtle pepper, pimento, or newspice, is a spice which is the dried unripe fruit of the Pimenta dioica plant. The name "allspice" was coined by the English, who thought it combined the flavour of several spices, such as cloves, pepper, and even cinnamon and nutmeg. tropical American tree having small white flowers and aromatic berries. The origin of this spice is Mexico or Jamayka.

    Q38: What kind of sauces are at the Bulgarian market?
    A38: There are a lot of sauces, dressings and condiments at Bulgarian market (imported and local). In this field there is no different with other European countries - smaller sauces hardly fit traditional Bulgarian dishes. As trend for the last years is that Bulgarian clients look for more health-oriented products (as low fat mayonnaise, etc.)
