LOCATION: The seaside town of Primorsko is situated in South-East Bulgaria and it is the administrative centre of Primorsko Municipality, Bourgas District. Primorsko is located on a point between the Bays of Stamopolo and Devils. The sands spread to 1 sq. km and half of them are protected dunes. The Ropotamo and the Devils River flow past the town. The area around the mouth of the river Ropotamo is the Nature Reserve of Ropotamo with its rock phenomena of the Lions head and the Dragons house. The conservation area of Arkutino keeps water lily populations. Maslen Cape and the fiord-like formations are another natural sights of Primorsko. In its surroundings four Thracian sanctuaries, ten burial mounds and twelve dolmens have been discovered. The most remarkable of the religious monuments is the Sanctuary of Beglik Tash, which embodies the cult of the sun. Primorsko is a sought- after beach and mountain resort. Most of the hotels and holiday camps are situated in the cool deciduous forests of Strandzha Mountain. The beaches are clean and broad. The sea water is transparent and calm. In 1998 Primorsko was awarded Blue Flag for the nature purity by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe.
