The Museum building is situated in the centre of city, opposite the city-hall and Mines headquarter. The exhibition is installed on 1200 sq. m. It has 7 departments and 20 people personnel, 12 of them are curators.
The Museum of History in Pernik possesses well formed collections of Prehistoric pottery, marble votive reliefs of Thracian horsemen, culture of the Mediaeval town, and ethnographic materials of the traditional Bulgarian culture. The principal exhibit fund has 17.085 exhibits items and 37.833 subsidiary fund items.
