Varosha is architectural reserve of the Bulgarian National Revival with dense amphitheatre-like design, having preserved the narrow winding streets of the medieval town. Most houses are two-storied, with a stone basement, a rickety first floor with timbered walls. Two of the former seven churches are preserved to the present day - "Ouspenie Bogorodichno" (1834, with a magnificent iconostasis) and "Sveta Nedelya" (1834). In 1872 - 1874 the great Bulgarian master Kolyo Ficheto builds the famous covered bridge over Osum river - a stone construction with a wooden superstructure, housing 64 shops. In 1925 the bridge is burned down and reconstructed in 1931
